Facemask Anyone?

As probably most of you have heard by now, Stephen had a little run-in with a softball last Thursday. He was STANDING on 2nd after running from 1st and the 2nd baseman failed to catch the ball coming in from left center (stupid girl). His forehead took the brunt of the ball, but his nose did get a little bit in the way. He was determined to finish the game, but didn't get through the batting order again before it was over. Rather than going straight to community care for stitches, we came home so he could look at it. After watching the highlights of the NBA game and waiting to see the Dodgers score he finally checked it out and realized that we should probably have it looked at, so off to the ER we go (community care had closed by now). The lady at the desk asked what he had done to make me mad and I told her that I had to be on a chair to reach that high---ha ha! Anyway, 3 underneath stitches, 7 on the top and about 3 hours later we head home (1:15ish am). Get home, eat dinner (we still hadn't eaten) and go to bed. Stephen is up at 6am to play basketball and has a men's softball game that night. Crazy? Stubborn? A Trooper? I'm not sure which describes him best! Anyway, the stitches come out today and hopefully it will heal up o.k. I think he just needs a facemask now..anyone have one we can use?
PS: The Pics are backwards....the top one is Monday night, next one is Saturday morning, next one is right before stitches and the bottom one is at the ER waiting to go back to see the doc. I'll get this figured out sometime......

My In-Laws

Stephen grew up in Montpelier and his family is all pretty much still there so I don't know them nearly as well as I would like to. Here are some pics of when we were there and had most of the immediate family together!

Happy Birthday to Me, Shelley, Selena and Jo!!

In case you didn't know, my BEST friend on the planet (Selena) and I have birthdays that are 3 days apart. To add to the fun, our friend Shelley, shares the same birthday with me and JoAnn (my old roommate) isn't too far behind with her birthday exactly 2 months after mine. Last year, it just so happened that Foreigner and Night Ranger were playing a concert in Jackpot --ON MY BIRTHDAY--!! So me, Stephen, Selena, Chris, Shelley and JoAnn all loaded up and headed to Jackpot for our birthday celebration! Can I just tell you that I think that I have the BEST FRIENDS EVER!!!

Daddy's girls....

I don't know if I have ever seen girls that love their dad so much (except for me and my sisters, of course) and it's so fun to see them get to their dad's soft spot whenever they come around!

Shipping Sheep!

So, Stephen's dad is a rancher in Montpelier and has over 4,000 head of sheep. This past October we took Austen and Dallas down while Stephen helped his dad get the sheep loaded into the trailers to send to the sale. I think that by the time they were done there were 5 trailers full that they sent. Needless to say it was quite interesting! The girls and I had fun hanging out with Emma and Dominic while their dad helped their Grandpa Dennis.

Vegas Baby!!!

So, the last 2 times we have gone to St George to play softball, we have flown to Vegas on Friday, driven to St. George to play ball Friday and Saturday, driven back to Vegas and spent Saturday night and Sunday in Vegas, then flown home on Monday. It has been a blast to go down there and hang out with our friends and just have a great time. Here are some pics from our last trip there.

P.S. soon I'll figure out how to put comments by the pics.....I'm still new at this remember...

Softball Fun!

Here are some pics from a couple of softball tournaments we went to last year. The first one (the group pic in the daytime) we went to was in Montpelier, it was a co-ed all nighter and we WON! Despite being tired, hungry and Luke breaking his hand 4 games before we finished, we had a super good time and can't wait to go back and defend our title!

The second one was St. George in December. The annual trip for the "Toys for Tots" to go somewhere warm, play on some awesome fields and also take a side trip to Vegas! Out of about 75 teams last year we took 3rd in consolation --not too shabby!

More Pics from the game

Here are some more pics from the Jazz game that we went to last. Soooo fun!!!

Does it get any cooler than this?

So I'm not sure how these are going to show up. I was given 2 tickets to the game from work. They are lower bowl, Row 15, face value for these playoff tickets was $180 per ticket! They are fabulous seats and we were so excited to head down! We got to the game and the couple that had the other 2 seats from work were AJ Pickett and her husband. AJ is one of Frank's assistants and is tons of fun. Half time comes and she got a phone call. It was Frank telling us to come and trade for the COURTSIDE seats for the 3rd quarter! Not only courtside, but one chair away from Jerry Sloan.....right on the Jazz Bench!!! It was so freaking fun!! I called Abby and told her to turn on the game and look for us...hopefully we didn't make too big of fools of ourselves, being on national TV and everything! It was so exciting! We were on cloud nine for the rest of the night, even if the Jazz didn't win, we still had fun!!!! I even got to give 5 to Andrei Kirilenko and CJ Miles as they came off the floor and Kobe Bryant almost fell on me! It's a good thing that we set the DVR for the game, now we just have to get a video tape and record it for prosperity! HA HA HA!! The bottom pic is during the national anthem from our 15th row seats. They had a 12 year old boy sing and he was AMAZING! The other pics are of the Jazz players (Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur, then of course Coach Sloan) from our courtside location. These are just a couple of the pics we took with our phones. I'll get the rest uploaded from the camera and post them later.

Here goes!

So I've been wanting to start a blog for a while now and figured this was as good of a time as any so here goes. I'm really not sure what I'm doing but we'll give it a shot!!!
